Review: The Big Bang Theory – Season 1

If StuffWeLike.com were a sitcom, it would be The Big Bang Theory, the endearing comedy about hopelessly nerdy physicists who pretty much like everything that we like.

Johnny Galecki’s Leonard is the emotional center of the show. When Penny (Kaley Cuoco), an attractive young woman, moves into the apartment across the hall, Leonard is instantly smitten. His pursuit of the girl of his dreams forms the spine of the first season.

“Pinky and the Brain” Are You Thinking What I’m Thinking?

There’s something so poetically unjust in the fact that The Brain can never get one of his megalomaniacal schemes of world domination to work. He tries so hard, thinks up overly-elaborate plans, and still, like Wile E. Coyote, can never catch that proverbial Road Runner. Whom can we blame for his failings? I love cartoons. Always have, always will. I can still watch Inspector Gadget, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the original series), Disney’s TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck, and the two other well-known Steven Spielberg Presents cartoon series Animaniacs and Freakazoid. I’m old enough to have watched Tiny Toon Adventures when it was first on TV back in the early 90s. It was funny, amusing, and entertaining when I was younger, and still has its moments today.

New Batman Game Announced

With E3 came many announcements, but among them, one has been circling the internet and game stores with vast excitement: The announcement of the new Batman game, Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Rumors that the game will be based on the movie were soon proven to be false as Eidos Interactive and Rocksteady Studios have decided on the dark secrets of the mental institution of Gotham City as the basis of their story line.

The game will start off with our hero Batman delivering the Joker to Gotham’s haunting Arkham Asylum, which is where the game hails its name.  The Joker manages to escape and take over the mental institution, awesome gameplay ensues.  Although the Joker is the main villain, you will also encounter many others throughout the game, such as Harley Quinn and Killer Croc, just to name a few.

There have been no confirmations yet as to who the voice actors will be, yet.  The previous Batman game, Batman: Begins included an all-star cast with almost every actor from the film providing their voice for the character they played.  Even so, the previous game failed on the market.  Fans are hoping history will not repeat itself.  Due to the success of The Dark Knight and the hype following this video game, it is more than likely this game will make up for previous disappointments.

I’ll Take You to the Candy Shop – Fastlane DVD Review

Written by: Rebecca Rodriguez

The summer of 2008 will go down in the history books as the summer of post-strike recovery. While viewers are eagerly awaiting the return of interrupted story lines and character arcs, they can still keep their DVD players functioning with a bevy of newly released series collections. The brightest firecracker since Fourth of July is Warner Bros release of Fastlane.

Created by McG (Charlie’s Angels) and John McNamara (TV’s The Fugitive), there is only one word to describe this series: slick. The series drips with the sort of gloss McG has become known for. High octane car chases matched with zippier dialogue mixed in with McG’s penchant for split screens and slow motion effects and you can see where current television darling Chuck gets its pedigree from.
