AC/DC Black Ice

It’s AC/DC’s first album in eight years, and it is fantastic. Essentially it feels like classic rock as modern media. Just as Kid Rock did with Rock ‘n Roll Jesus, AC/DC has made an album that instantly feels like a classic. Their music sounds as good as it did in their hayday, and the title track, Black Ice, will rock your freakin’ socks off.

I highly recommend this album to anyone – and I mean anyone – who considers themselves a fan of any form of rock ‘n roll.

Trust me- you will not be disappointed.

Concert DVD Review – AC/DC’s No Bull: the Director’s Cut

AC/DC has typically been known for putting on one Hell of a show after another. Their performance in Madrid, Spain in 1996 is certainly no exception.

The band consists of very visual performers who truly interact with their audiences and aim to put on a thrilling show. The DVD starts as the concert does. In front of what feels like millions of screaming fans, a giant wrecking ball demolishes a fake on-stage building, leaving an empty stage in need of rocking.

The UFO watch: now ready for probing

swl-ufo-watch.jpg

Having been a gadget news and reviews writer for quite some time I’ve seen my share of the sublime and ridiculous in the world of tech. But here’s something that’s a little out of this world-the U200i UFO watch (cringe).

In terms of the sublime and ridiculous I’m not sure where this fits in. It certainly is different. Not only is it a watch, but an MP3 player and cell phone.

OK, so most of the latest mobile phones have music playing capabilty, and they can also tell the time-believe it or not. But I’ve never seen a mash-up quite like this. It looks like something that should have been in the Back To The Future films.

Click ahead for more details and a closer look.
