The L33tstr33t Boys

2 East Music

More video game parodies to laugh at. This time The L33tstr33t Boys are here… Yeah The L33tstr33t Boys. I can barely spell that, but don’t worry their lyrics are worthwhile. The L33tstr33t Boys were formed by 2EastMusic, composer of The Legend of Zelda: Lost video parodies.

The L33tstr33t Boys is actually a side project of 2EastMusic, but if you want to hear more songs in the future – go ahead and spam them or comment in this post. Basically spread the word and The L33tstr33t Boys will be back.[Update]

I’ve just been informed that Matt, the creator of this band, will be performing at the ConnectiCon 2007 on Friday, July 13th at 6:30pm. The concert emphasizes interactivity including audience participation games, multimedia, songwriting workshop showcase, and a satirical all-gamer boyband. Also performing with Matt are Vic Mignogna, voice of Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, and interactive audio legacy George “The Fat Man” Sanger.

At 1pm he’ll also be hosting the Anime Songwriting Workshop, which introduces non-songwriters to the process of writing pop songs through improvisation, interactive analysis, and offering opportunities to be involved with the studio production. Both Vic Mignogna and George Sanger will be attending the workshop as well!

ConnectiCon will be held the weekend of July 13-15, 2007 at the Connecticut Convention Center on Columbus Blvd in Hartford, CT.

AllofMP3.com taken down, springs back up

AllofMP3.com, a popular haven for buggers who prefer to download instead of buy music has been taken down by the Russian Government. The move came as a result of plenty of international pressure, and more importantly, it was a condition laid before Russia for WTO membership. Is this a sad day for pirates worldwide? It isn’t. Keep reading to know why.

Even though AllofMP3 has diappeared, an almost identical site has popped up under the name MP3Sparks.com. This new site claims to be completely legal and paying royalties to the Russian royalty collection agencies, like its predecessor AllofMP3. Plus, if you had an account with AllofMP3, you can seemingly use it with MP3Sparks as well. Talk about coincidence.

So this means that even though AllofMP3.com has been destroyed and the WTO’s condition met, the site hasn’t really disappeared. This poses the questions: Is the WTO going to force Russia to shut down MP3Sparks for the much-coveted entry? Is MP3Sparks really legal under Russia’s new AllofMP3-busting laws? Tune into the next episode to find out.

The Spice Girls Are Back

SpiceGirls

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta read this post. Making is believing – friendship never ends. You gotta, you gotta…

Remember the Spice Girls – you know the super-star singers that had their own movies, toys, as well as songs? They’re coming back and are “better than ever.” We’ve missed these girls – now women – since they broke up in 2001.

Sporty Spice told BBC Radio that the group has been discussing a comeback.

No Doubt re-unite, “Surprise,” she says.

NOTE: If you’re reading this from the front page, you’re not going to see the videos. I don’t know why that is. Either click “More” at the bottom of this post or click the “BLOG” link at the top of the page to see what’s going on.

Believe it or not, I feel that there was a time that No Doubt did not totally suck. Back before Gwen Stefani’s solo effort hit us with the mind-numbingly stupid lines, “This shit is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!” she put on a hell of a show jumping, flailing, contorting, and wailing to Orange County flavored pop rock. I used to be in love with Gwen. This past weekend, Orange County was treated to a very special surprise when the rest of No Doubt took the stage during Gwen’s encore performance, and they cranked out some old No Doubt tunes. Above is I’m Just a Girl, followed by the much inferior It’s My Life, both performed beneath the din of hundreds of screaming pre-pubescent girls.Supposedly, the band is back in the studio, recording a new record due out next year. Here’s hoping the band makes a return to it’s ska/punk influenced roots. Hit the jump for Spiderwebs.
