The covers are off for Bethesda’s top-secret game developed by Splash Damage, Brink. Hit the break for a teaser trailer and the official site.

Last year, Bethesda Softworks announced that they’re in for a long-term development partnership with Splash Damage, the developer behind Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Now is when we see what has come of this deal.

Below this paragraph you see the first official teaser trailer for Brink, Splash Damage’s secret project scheduled for release Spring 2010 for the PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360. We don’t know anything about the game so far, but if history is anything to go by, expect it to a first-person game, most likely a shooter with Bethesda-influenced RPG elements.

Well no, we don’t know much more than that. There’s the official site for the game, which shows off one really stylish UI design (plenty of arrows and grey bars make for cool looks eh), but the background does have some choppers doing business. Hmm.

The plot that can be made out from the teaser is this: people constructed a superstructure called ‘The Ark’ that was supposed to be a messianic building, but then humanity got into a classic apocalyptic war and The Ark became a last stand location, or a place of refuge, or something like that. Also, what’s with that dude’s face?

Right now, this isn’t very interesting in itself. Utopian construction gone wrong? Rapture did it. Global warfare endangering humanity? A thousand video games have done it. While we’ve got nothing to tattoo our arms for, we’ll just have to keep an eye out for this.
