Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction is a 3D stealth action game for hardcore gamers who own a Windows Phone, but is it a worthwhile adventure?

Just like the console versions, Splinter Cell is still all about lurking in the shadows and killing people. Of course as this is a mobile game the controls have had to greatly change from the console iterations. You’ll get a virtual joystick for your left thumb to move Sam around. To control the camera and your reticle at the same time you use your right thumb. Then also on the right of the screen are various options that allow Sam to shoot, attack with his melee moves, climb ladders, take cover, etc. Additionally you can press a button that zooms in the camera and makes it easier to aim with your gun. For a mobile game these controls are pretty complex.

In theory Splinter Cell isn’t a fast paced shooter. You are supposed to use stealth and take time to kill your enemies. In that regard the complexity of the controls aren’t such a big issue. But seriously who is patient when they are playing a mobile game? Usually speaking you want instant gratification when you play mobile games. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction doesn’t have that.

If you want to play a Splinter Cell game your best with sticking to the console versions. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction is a good try, but it didn’t capture my imagination.
