YouTube now allows viewers to watch videos in High Quality. Woohoo!
If you were like me, whenever a website embedded a YouTube video, I would always click on the video and go to YouTube’s website to watch the High Quality or High Definition version. Now I’ll never have to do that again!
YouTube has enabled High Quality embedding. It currently does not support High Definition embedding, although a High Quality version of an HD embedded video is available.
To view a High Quality video play the embedded video. Then in the lower right hand corner, roll-over the up arrow. Look for ‘HQ’ and click on that. This will begin the High Quality stream. The video will reload in the embedded space.
I was wondering when they were going to do that. Finally.
I know. I’ve heard many YouTube Partners say that they don’t embed YouTube videos on their websites. That really never made sense to me. This new update will continue to help maintain YouTube’s dominance in web video.
Is it possible to force hiq by default on embedded player?
Right now it’s not. However YouTube has now enabled HQ or HD quality to be displayed in embedded videos if users select the option.
