Uwe Boll and Anderson have both got the right idea. Since there are so many remakes of television series and movies coming out they are the only two directors which have taken a game franchise and attempted to convert it to movie form. Not including those currently in production like Max Payne and BioShock.
Anderson his conversion of Resident Evil did rather well, Boll not so much in his attempts with Dungeon Siege, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, Postal… you get the idea. But there should be more videogame movies in general as it would add some fresh story’s to a stagnant environment. Right now Hollywood’s only ideas come from making new sequels to old franchises like Die Hard or the recently announced Beverly Hills Cop 4.
From this journalists perspective the best games that should be considered for movie status would be Silent Hunter, Half Life amd Metal Gear Solid. There are more but those would be the easiest to convert from console to screen.
What does this mean for you? More movies and more choice in what you watch. Not just Rocky sequel number 1,284.
