Exploring Stuff That Makes Life Great
Thanks to Youtube and other video sites, family videos can be shared across the world. While in many cases they are boring to the average viewer, some videos break out and are hilarious even if you don’t know the family. I’ve mixed together some of the funniest kid videos that I could find. If you know of any that I’ve excluded let me know!

Considering just how top secret all information is around the new Batman movie its a hard thing to imagine but yes without any spolier warnings IMDB have posted on their website the ending to the Batman movie.
First we want to let you know that there are going to be no spoilers in this article. Since its been ruined for us we dont want the same for you!
Since the tragic end of Heath Ledger recently IMDB has been posting all the news from the Associated Press directly. What they included on their daily Movie/TV news page is nothing short of giving away the ending to the movie. The article called “Australia Mourns Ledger Loss” has an interview with a movie producer by the name of Clint Morris. Included in his quotes are statements that give no doubt about what happens to The Joker in The Dark Knight and what happens at the end.
For those who do want to read the spoiler it can be found here. Half way into the paragraph. As you can see it doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. For a set of movies where everything is kept secret to the point where fake production titles are being used we can imagine that Warner Bros will be talking to IMDB very soon.

You can roll in all the big numbers you can think of, but when it comes to technological progress, nothing turns more heads than something that looks really cool. That is why more people took interest in Microsoft Surface, the Apple iPhone and the Nintendo Wii than, well, uh… you see?
While Microsoft Surface is still a bit far from release and will cost more than the war funding, we are left to simply dream of such intuitive interfaces. The latest to roll in this line comes from a comparatively obscure “Cynergy Labs” who unveiled their top-secret weapon, codenamed Project Maestro.
As you will see in the video below, Project Maestro utilizes the Wiimote, Microsoft WPF, third party libraries, custom-built Minority Report-inspired gloves as well as costly hardware like that TV you see. The result is a demonic interface that you can control with your hands. In the air. As the guy in the video at Cynergy’s site says, it’s Microsoft Surface, without the Surface. (Microsoft Surface – Surface = Mircosoft? The mind boggles.)
In the video, you can see the guy demonstrating Maestro by cutting and throwing Mona Lisa around as well as showing his photos, much like Microsoft Surface. The sexy gloves cover only three of his fingers, and allow him to pinch and grab stuff on the screen. He also shows off his encounter with Microsoft, which is cute. I particularly like the half-professional, half-homemade style of the video.
What bothers me is that I can’t see any particularly useful applications of this. It’ll be cool for some games, especially sports titles, racing titles or maybe shooters; that is until your arms ache and you take that gamepad back. Sure, throwing photos around and dissecting Mona Lisa is fun, but it’s not worth the massive price tag. I’m sure you can’t do office work waving your hands in the air. Internet browsing should be okay, but it’ll wear you out and incorrect pointing will have you clicking the wrong button.
In movies it should be good, since you don’t need to reach for the remote to pause, rewind or fast forward – simple hand-movements should do the trick. But then it would really suck if you grab a soda and the sensor thinks you want it to stop playback. But it would be a’ight nonetheless, and the same applies to listening to music. It’ll be pretty cool if we use to it create sounds out of Air Guitar moves.

Marking a serious return to form The Hoax has Richard Gere playing Clifford Irving in this true story about a writer who faked an authorised autobiography on Howard Hughes the airplane billionaire.
The movie is a seriously funny comedy but not in a slapstick way. Its situational comedy as its incredible what lengths he and his writing partner Dick Suskind (Alfred Molina) go to for handwriting samples and other ways to fake conversations to bluff the publishers. It is a movie that does feel like time well spent when watching and is worth a purchase.
As far as DVD extras are concerned there is only a trailer that on such a great movie is a horrible disappointment.

Shoot Em Up has bystander Clive Owen interrupt in a murder saving a pregnant woman’s child. What happens is a shoot more, think less movie with constant strong gunplay from the first scene to the last. Taking along old associate Monica Bellucci Owen takes on main hired bad guy Paul Giamatti and his endless stream of henchmen. There are some funny scenes like his having to order more men over the phone. Its just like he was ordering a pizza. When the film is over there is no doubt that Giamatti steals the show.
If you are looking for a deep movie with a lot of emotional content for those actors wanting Oscars this is not it. Forget the loose storyline and all you have is 75 minutes of gunplay where your mind must be firmly switched off. Lets face it that’s not a bad thing. You do end up feeling though that the movie is more a one watch rental and not a purchase though.
DVD extras are deleted/alternate Scenes, commentary by Writer/Director Michael Davies, Ballet of bullets: Making Shoot ‘Em Up, animatics and a theatrical trailer.
Verdict: –
As a plain revenge trip Death Sentence does very well at keeping you entertained. After seeing his son murdered at a gas station average Joe Kevin Bacon goes hunting. While he just starts out by killing the gang member who killed his son things soon turn more serious as the rest of the gang retaliate against him. While Death Sentence is not a high profile movie it is a high quality one with some really good chase scenes and a long shootout at the end. In short it’s the Punisher done right. The only criticism is that the movie would have had a better ending if it ended about 13 seconds earlier. When you see it you will understand.
As far as DVD extras are concerned there is a ‘Making of Death Sentence’ featurette and that’s all in this case.
