Why don’t people want free content?

Promoting The Pipeline multimedia player has been much more difficult than what I originally thought it would have been. I explain to webmasters that they can get free video and audio content, but the majority turn their heads in the opposite direction. Why is that? We’ve changed the name from StuffWeLike.com Multimedia Player to first off something more easier to remember – The Pipeline, and secondly to something that didn’t advertise StuffWeLike.com in its name.

Right now we have 3 video game websites that have the multimedia player on their websites. I’ve contacted tons of websites through both forums and using instant messanging programs. Neither way seems to really work that well.

My goal isn’t to have every website in the world using this player. I’m looking to gain a core group of websites that want video and audio content on their websites. Obviously video and audio content is the wave of the future so why is it that people don’t seem all the interested in this program?

Website Update

I’ve now fixed the top frame so that you can minimize/expand it rather than close it! So now you can have video/audio playing in the background and visit the rest of the website without viewing the player at all. Of course you can stop the video/audio from playing by pausing the player. I hope you all find the website more easy to navigate.

Video Game Music Channel

Earlier last week we had a technical problem with the Video Game Music Channel. The problem has since been fixed allowing for everyone to listen to 90+ music tracks.

At the same time you’ll notice several changes to the player. The dates on the Guide page now update whenever we update the shows. Also there’s a new ‘i’ button that displays the video’s name once it is rolled over with a cursor.

Now on serious note Mark Gravender has told me that Daniel Baruela has fell down a set of stairs at his dorm. Currently he’s in the hospital and I don’t know how he’s doing. We can only hope for the best!
