Little Shop of Horrors 4K Bluray Review

Little Shop of Horrors is one of those movies that never gets old. Its unique blend of dark comedy, horror, catchy musical numbers, and memorable characters makes it an absolute joy to watch. It’s funny, weird, creative, and full of personality, and this 4K UHD Blu-ray release makes revisiting this classic even more enjoyable.

The biggest highlight is the picture quality. The 4K presentation looks crystal clear, with excellent sharpness and detail that really bring the movie to life. The sets, costumes, and facial details look fantastic, while the colorful production design benefits from the improved clarity. Audrey II, the man-eating plant at the center of the story, looks particularly impressive, allowing you to appreciate the creativity and craftsmanship behind the practical effects.

The improved image quality makes this a noticeable upgrade, especially if you’re coming from an older DVD or Blu-ray. Everything looks sharper and more defined while retaining the charm and distinctive visual style that make the movie so special. Rick Moranis is fantastic as Seymour, and the entire cast brings plenty of energy to this wonderfully entertaining musical. The songs remain catchy, the humor still works, and Audrey II is just as entertaining as ever.

The disc also includes some worthwhile special features. Two new featurettes, To Feed or Not to Feed: For the Love of Little Shop and Mean Green Mother – Creating Audrey II, offer behind-the-scenes stories about the film and the creation of its iconic plant. Additional extras include Frank Oz’s audio commentary, archival featurettes, outtakes, deleted scenes, and the director’s cut ending. Having both the theatrical and director’s cuts included is another nice bonus for fans.

Overall, Little Shop of Horrors looks fantastic in 4K, and the crystal-clear picture makes this release well worth checking out. Combined with the entertaining movie, memorable music, and a solid selection of special features, this is an excellent addition to any physical media collection. If you’re a fan of the film, this 4K UHD Blu-ray is an easy recommendation!
