I love this movie! Ant-Man is by far one of the funniest, most exciting, creative, and fun superhero movies I’ve seen since Guardians of the Galaxy. I think it’s great that the movie has a sense of humor about itself and really drives home the laughs over and over again. From its opening moments to the after-credits scene, Ant-Man is a fantastic edition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a fitting end to Marvel Phase Two.

Paul Rudd (Anchorman, The 40 Year-Old Virgin), Michael Douglas (The Game, Wall Street), Evangeline Lily (Lost, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Corey Stoll (Black Mass), Judy Greer (Jurassic World, Two and a Half Men), and Bobby Cannavale (Spy, Boardwalk Empire) are fantastic in this movie, but the guy that steals the show in every scene he’s in is the hilarious Michael Peña (The Martian). The last movie I saw him in was End of Watch (not a comedy), so this was a refreshing performance by a gifted comic actor and I hope he appears again in Ant-Man & The Wasp when it comes out.

The special effects are fantastic, as is the soundtrack, and the movie as a whole just leaves you energized and wanting to watch it again. The battle sequences have a solid mix of action and comedy (it is Marvel, after all), and you can just tell that everyone had a fun time making this fun-filled Marvel movie.

Ant-Man ties into Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so if you haven’t seen those I suggest you check ‘em out (for context and because they are both great Marvel movies in their own right). Also look for a few cameos from other notable Marvel movie characters and Stan Lee.

The Blu-ray edition includes the following special features:
