Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ Trailer Launches!

Perhaps you attended Rushmore, maybe you were even part of The Royal Tenenbaums, and even still you could have gone on a journey with The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, but that doesn’t prepare you for Wes Anderson’s next great work Moonrise Kingdom.

The king of quirky coming of age stories has returned and is better than ever. In his newest work he ditches the oddball family mantra to return to the roots of a Rushmore-esque story. Check out the trailer below!

Moonrise Kingdom is directed by Wes Anderson, who also wrote the script with Roman Coppola. The film features Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman, two regulars of his works, but also introduces Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton. The story is simple enough, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, both decide to run away and be free during this 1960’s piece set in a New England town. Not much else is known about the film but we can be assured that Anderson has found his niche and is mastering it with each new film.

Moonrise Kingdom is slated to come out May 25th, 2012 and is distributed by Focus Features. What are your thoughts? Boring, predictable hipster garbage? Or another gem by a man who doesn’t seem keen on slowing down? Leave a comment down below!
