The Simpsons: The Thirteenth Season – DVD Review

If you don’t know by now, The Simpsons is currently the longest-running television primetime series of all time and the longest-running animated series in history. The Simpsons is a pop culture icon, has given society a variety of catchphrases (“D’oh!” and “Don’t have a cow, man” come to mind), and has no signs of slowing down.

With its 22nd season premiering this Fall on FOX, it’s always fun to look back at previous season and see how good this series was, is, and will continue to be.

If you’ve never watched The Simpsons there must be something wrong with you. This holds especially true if you watch Family Guy, American Dad, or South Park and have never experienced the world of The Simpsons and the lives of Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and the rest of the universe populated by yellow people.

The show is intelligent, ironic, witty, and very very funny. Animated comedy doesn’t get much better than The Simpsons.

Onward to season 13, which is just as fresh and fun as the previous 12 or the subsequent 8. It’s a never-ending parade of laughs as Homer and company take on politics, social issues, religion, celebrities and more. There’s a reason this show continues to grow in popularity, and season 13 helps to prove that point over and over again with each episode.

Special features abound on each disc and include Audio Commentaries, Deleted Scenes, Animation Showcases, Featurettes, Original Sketches, and more! You won’t want to miss this hilarious season of The Simpsons.

For the ultimate animated comedy series, I highly recommend The Simpsons: The Thirteenth Season on DVD and Blu-ray. Grab your copy August 24, 2010!
