Alan Wake is a third person action/adventure game. It’s reminiscent to Resident Evil 4. However Resident Evil 4 was able to bring out an emotion from the player. Every moment was tense and filled with suspense. The player had no idea whether or not they’d survive their next encounter. They had no idea what type of enemy was awaiting them, but they knew something bigger and badder was next.
Alan Wake lacks all of that. The enemies are repetitive and there’s plenty of ammo all around you. Alan Wake does build upon the complexity of the encounters, but all of the enemies die in the same way. They have no personality or truly unique attributes to them.
At the end of the day, Alan Wake is still a solid game that should be played by all Xbox 360 owners. It is a creative and unique experience.
