The download only PSP handheld comes out tomorrow, with its extravagant price point and no UMD conversion system. While some retailers have refused to sell it, others are loving the PSPGo. A Sony rep has said that are fine with the handheld. The reason is that it might entice window shoppers to see the PSPGo, not be able to afford it, but instead get the PSP-3000.
Yes, Sony just admitted that their handheld is so expensive it forces people to buy their old product. Frankly it seems like a rather silly strategy which could be easily rectified by making it cheaper. Apple has different models at different prices, but the primary difference is that they offer largely different features, not the exact same thing with less accessibility.
One developer has decided to take the PSPGo’s download-only format and make it benefit the gamer. Instead of charging full price for something lacks a case, disk and instruction manual, NIS has decided to release some their games at a severely discounted price. The following games will be priced at 4.99 to 9.99 starting tomorrow for one week:
* Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light
* Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
* Dragoneer’s Aria
* Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This?
* Mana Khemia: Student Alliance
* Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?
God bless you NIS.
