What? No Peter Molyneux? But all we want is to ask British village boys if they’ve done their homework!
It looks like Microsoft’s just announced who’s working with them for their big Project Natal thingie, and the list sure is impressive:
Activision Blizzard
Bethesda
Capcom
Disney Interactive
Electronic Arts
Konami
MTV Games
Namco Bandai
Sega
Square Enix
THQ
Ubisoft
That is, pretty much, every major developer out there, and that means speculation is going to hit an all-time high. Bethesda? Can you say “Fallout Natal”? Maybe a Guitar Hero, or a Rock Band (I don’t play rhythm games, so don’t ask me which is which). And there’s THQ with their pro wrestling games. Well, come to think of it, rolling and grabbing in front of a TV screen doesn’t quite sound that appealing.
In addition, Microsoft will be holding a panel later today at TGS, where they’ll bring the Hideo Kojima himself, along with Keiki Inafune (Capcom) and Toshihiro Nagoshi (Sega), and they’ll all discuss “groundbreaking new experiences that can only be achieved with Project Natal”.
The more people talk about this thing, the more it scares me to think that it won’t be 5 years before we’re actually interacting with seemingly real AI replete with voice synthesis, voice recognition and all those occultishly bizarre technologies. Cyberpunk, anyone?
