BD Box Art

Wolverine’s popularity as a comic book character and film hero is evidenced by the success of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The first 2009 Summer blockbuster, the film has grossed over $363 million worldwide, and a sequel is already in the works. This particular film delves into Wolverine’s past (hence the title of the film), and how he became the man/mutant that we have come to all know and love.

On September 15, 2009, you’ll be able to choose from four different versions of the DVD/Blu-ray. Four? Yes, four. And what are these many different versions?

– Single Disc DVD

– Two Disc DVD: Special Edition

– Two Disc Blu-ray with Digital Copy

– Three Disc Blu-ray with DVD and Digital Copy (Exclusively at Wal-Mart)

So you’ve got a lot of options in buying and personalizing your own X-Men Origins: Wolverine experience. If you just want the movie and little else, you’ve got the opportunity to do so. If you want to go all out and get the film three ways AND have a ton of awesome special features, you can do that too!

And what are these awesome special features that I speak of? I’m glad you asked! Here’s what you get with the Blu-ray edition of the film:

IMDB BD-Live Technology

Don’t you hate it when you look at the filmography of an actor on a DVD and it ends with the movie you’re currently watching? Then you have to get up, go to your computer, and find out what else the actor has done. Not anymore.

With this feature, you get an updated list of everything every actor in the film has done each time you pop in the Blu-ray disc. So even if Hugh Jackman has down three projects after this one, you will be able to see them in real-time with this feature. It looks like this on the screen:

Both the DVD and Blu-ray double-disc and the three disc Blu-ray come with a Digital Copy of the film.
