That BioShock movie Universal is making with Gore Verbinski directing, won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. But don’t lose hope, it hasn’t been cancelled, at least.
The flick is currently in pre-production and the budget is pretty much snowballing. Reports suggest that the budget reached $160 Million, and Universal’s not very keen about it.
The film’s pre-production continues though, and Universal has stated explicitly that the project is not cancelled, and that they’re committed to the film and that Gore Verbinski will still be the director. Just don’t expect it around anytime soon.
There wasn’t a release date to start with, so we don’t know when it’s coming out exactly. I wouldn’t put it any earlier than 2011, though.
