Half-Life and Half-Life 2 in 60 Seconds Flat!

Well, of course, nobody has invented a record of beating both games in 60 seconds (it takes even more than 120 for my copy of Episode Two to load), but this hilarious video gives you a glimpse of what could have happened had that been possible. I really like the way the maker has squeezed in so many Half-Life jokes and references in scenes. You’ll have to watch the video at least thrice to even hope and get them all!

Playstation 2 version 3

Yes you heard correctly, Sony is planning on releasing yet another Playstation 2 model! It’s cheaper, “better”, and being released in 2008. The main difference is the power supply will be built into the system and will only cost $99. It’s $30 cheaper than the current PS2 model.

This new slimmerer model will be available in 2008 and will easily push PS2 sales well above the current 120 million unit base.

Bigger is Better

Finally after 10,000 years it’s time to conquer EARTH!

or the internet

whatever.

If you have ever had issues using StuffWeLike’s player, The Pipeline – you’re not alone! One of the biggest complaints we get is:

“Dear Mr. StuffWeLike aka David Rodriguez,

Your player has poor playback speeds. It takes forever to load. I HATE YOU?!

PS – The buttons and text on the player are too small to read.”

Freight no more watchers! The Pipeline now expands the HUD (a term that gamer’s should all know = Heads Up Display). The buttons are now buttonier and the text is now easier on the eyes. If you don’t believe us, test it for yourself by using the player below. Click on the full screen button and then resize your browser to any size you want. The HUD will act accordingly!

Don’t forget to keep the complaints coming!

Turok Coming 02/05/08

Turok

The dinosaur hunter is back in what hopefully is the game that restarts the series! If this already sounds familiar to you, it should be. The previous Turok game, Turok: Evolution, was meant to bring the series onto what was then the next-generation consoles (PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube). Well it failed miserably.

Disney now has the rights to the game so it will be interesting to see what the mouse house will be able to do with the game. Thankfully we won’t have to wait that long as the PC version of Turok will be released on February 5, 2008.

“First person shooters have a rich history on the Windows PC platform and are known for having enthusiastic, dedicated fans,” said Josh Holmes, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. “Turok will be an unforgettable experience ideal for the Windows PC platform when it becomes available in 2008.”

Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are also being worked on.

[Update]
We’ve been informed that there was a goof in the press release. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are coming 02/05/08. The PC version is being released later in Spring 08.

A KotOR-fanboy-ish analysis of the LucasArts-Bioware press release

Cropped version of Knights of the Old Republic cover

Two days ago, LucasArts and Bioware released a press release announcing their newly-forged alliance and made a fancy domain address at www.lucasartsbioware.com as well. This has put all the internets on red alert, especially considering the recent rumour that Bioware’s top-secret MMORPG is based on Knights of the Old Republic. I, being the KotOR fanboy that I am, could not resist it.

Below, we have dissected the press release to try and guess its meaning, and build up some more hype for this unannounced game in hopes of being hired by the LucasArts marketing team. For the full press release in its unadulterated form, use the LA-Bioware link above. Hit the jump to read the analysis in all its glory.
