We’ve got a ton of new screenshots comparing the original Tomb Raider game to the soon to be released remake Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Keep in mind that these are PS1 vs PS2 graphics!
If the PS3 has taught us anything, it’s that “more brown= more realism”. The new version needs more brown!
But seriously, part of what I like about the original is how everything looks like it’s carved right into the earth. The new ones are so clean and bright, with neatly carved, independant structures that it kinda kills the sense of ancient ruin. Am I making sense at all?
With bad graphics you had to imagine the world. Now with high definition graphics the world appears as is. If something looks bad it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Unless you’re a extreme hardcore Tomb Raider fan I say avoid the Anniversary edition at all costs. It just ain’t worth the investment.
