CSI Las Vegas Season 6 Part 2 (Region 2 DVD) Review

The set for the second half of season six provides a great deal of extra material. These include things such as segments about the technology seen on screen used by the characters and a look back at how the season has progressed. If anything the extras on this one set are better than the actual episodes where none really stand out enough from the crowd.

Verdict: +

Sam Raimi working on low budget horror, AND maybe Hobbit!

Sam Raimi

Now, I personally dislike the Spider-Man movies but in no way do I dislike Sam Raimi. If you’ve ever watched the cinematic masterpiece that is Evil Dead II (and perhaps Army of Darkness), you’ll know what I’m talking about. Well, Sam may have hit the big league and gotten lots of money and all, but news just in that he’s going for a good old low-budget horror movie, titled Drag Me to Hell, as Variety informs us.

Supposedly, DMtH will be about a guy with a supernatural curse and his issues with morality. I don’t know what he means by that, but as long as it’s a comedy-horror, splatter movie, I’m a happy boy. Rob Tapert says about the movie, “Sam calls it a ’spook-a-blast,’ a wild ride with all the chills and spills that ‘Evil Dead’ delivered, without relying on the excessive violence of that film.” While I’m only a little bit disheartened at the low violence part, the rest seems perfectly cool to me. :)

What’s more, there is a remake of Evil Dead in the works. I can bet you as much as you like that it won’t hold up, but what the hell (pun not intended).

Variety goes on to state that Sam may then jump right back up to direct the Hobbit (something I’m dying to see), since Peter Jackson quit.

This is really interesting stuff. Is the blood-filled, non-Japanese, splatter-based Horror genre in for a reincarnation, now that Bruce Campbell is also making a comedy along the same lines?

Heroes Season 3 trailer leaked

Just like the Dark Knight trailer a week ago a high profile trailer has been leaked onto the net. Plus, just like before it’s in a bad cam quality. For those of you that don’t want any spoilers for season 3, we won’t be putting up details here, but it does appear that season 3 is going to be the darkest yet.

The source for this trailer’s showing was the Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival where the show was being honored. What we can say is this season 3 trailer in its current format doesn’t spoil too much as the audio is of a terrible quality but the picture is clear enough to make out key characters and interactions between them.

New LOST trailer

Is it almost that time of year? You know when the leaves start changing colors and the summer heat goes away?

Wait it’s December… so why hasn’t ABC aired new LOST episodes yet?! The only reason to watch the ABC channel, has for better or worse had many changes this season. First LOST was supposed to have 16 episodes, now since the Writer’s Strike say hello to only 8 new episodes, and it will be pushed to Thursday nights. Talk about the kiss of death.

Of course you should have been able to get your LOST fix with the online webisodes called Lost: Missing Pieces. If you never checked that out, you’re one of the millions of fans that ignored one big piece of crap. Ok I only watched the first episode. That was a piece of crap.

ABC has released a new promo for Season 4, which begins airing on January 31st. Watch it here and then drool.

Internet Video is Complicated

If you ever wanted a look into the media 2.0 industry here’s a great video from Streaming Media. I love thinking about this stuff. The techie in me screams out in joy when I hear about the future of web video and what needs to be fixed.

StuffWeLike videos can be found throughout the net, but the most important place to be able to find these videos is actually on StuffWeLike. We offer hours of video content, but in many respects you probably haven’t even noticed it. Not that it’s your fault, it’s ours. Our player The Pipeline is constantly evolving to meet users demands. 2008 will be a huge year for us as the player opens up to new frontiers.

But as the title of this post says, internet video is complicated. No service has the ultimate solution. The video below will show just how much people are trying to fix and improve your abilities to find videos. We’re at the forefront of the explosion. I can only imagine that 10 years from now we’ll be at a recession as media 2.0 companies get bought out or go bankrupt due to the over-saturation of the market. Yay…
