Anything that spoofs Blade Runner and shows off its oddness deserves at least a C rating in my book. Thankfully this is Deep Space 69 so that rating was thrown out the door and I kinda had a nerdgasm.

I know fans of these characters will be disappointed that both Hong Kong Phooey And Marvin The Martian will not be making their big screen debuts. After watching the test footage below you’ll quickly understand why neither character alone would be able to pull off their own feature length film.

I think it’s always fascinating to see what the studios are testing. You can’t blame them for trying. They have an arsenal of popular characters and franchises that sometimes need to be let back into the limelight. The approach might be wrong, but there’s no reason not to at least try and see what sticks.

Every now and then there’s a video game web short that is done with people who know how to make something that has style with substance. This is one of those videos. Albeit this is just a teaser, but it’s clear that there’s a vision here and it’s going to be very interesting to see if they can live up to that in the final version.
