Smallville Season 6 Finale

[UPDATE]: Lex and Lana becoming extras – NOT full time characters – to the Smallville series!

Smallville

Wow I didn’t even realize that this episode was on tonight! Thankfully I watched Everybody Loves Raymond and a promo for this season finale aired. Of course it took me a while to comprehend that the new episode was airing today, but that’s besides the point.

The good news is that we’re here! Done with another season! How many more do we have to endure?! Seriously though this episode wasn’t bad, it was actually confusing. I think that’s a first for the series, ok maybe since season 4.

Lana’s dead, Cloe is dead, Clark is alive, Clark’s mom is a Senator, Lionel is dead, Lex was arrested, some other random people died. The best part was the fight scene between Clark and Clark which ripped off The Matrix Revolutions Neo vs. Agent Smith end battle sequence. At the very end they eluded to Clark 2 being Bizarro…

Does that make sense? I hope you see why I was confused.

ABC Online to Air Shows In HD

Lost

Dedicated to expanding its network and channel brands across multiple platforms and connecting viewers with their favorite shows anytime and anywhere, Disney-ABC Television Group announced today that it will begin to stream content in true high definition resolution this summer on its Emmy Award-winning ABC.com broadband video.

“We are excited to be the first in the industry to stream HD video available on the web, providing ABC.com users with an unprecedented online viewing experience,” said Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney-ABC Television Group. “By continuing to listen to our audience and enhancing our digital offerings with the best technology available, we further strengthen their relationship to our brands.”

Launching as a beta test in early July, the full-episode broadband player’s HD channel will feature a limited amount of content in true high-definition 1280 X 720 resolution from such series as “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Ugly Betty.” In conjunction with the launch of the new season in September, a more robust HD programming lineup will be offered.

“This is all about innovating and creating ‘what’s next’ to give consumers the best experience as they watch our content, regardless of viewing platform,” said Albert Cheng, executive vice president, Digital Media, Disney-ABC Television Group. “With the advancements in display devices and the prevalence of hardware with the processing capabilities to handle this technology, offering true HD content online is a natural.”

Additionally, this fall the ABC.com’s full episode player will be expanded further to included national news and local content, in addition to primetime entertainment programming. This new player will be geo-targeted, offering the ability for local ads and content to be more relevant to each individual user.

ABC.com’s broadband player currently offers full-length episodes in high quality, standard definition resolution of over a dozen series, including “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” “Ugly Betty,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “Notes from the Underbelly,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “According to Jim,” free to consumers on ABC’s website the day after their broadcast premieres.

In April the full-episode player began offering full-screen viewing as well as a small “mini” screen that users can position wherever they choose on their desktops, in addition to the two original standard viewing size viewing options. To date, ABC affiliates covering 80% of the country — including all major affiliate groups and the ten ABC owned stations — have launched or have committed to launching the player on their own websites and are taking advantage of the opportunity to incorporate local advertising into the programming.

Stripes (-)

Stripes (-)

Have you ever had one of those movies that you really wanted to see for a long time? Well for me Stripes was one of them. I remember seeing the trailer on the Ghostbusters DVD, thinking that the movie would be funny. Well if finally appeared on On-Demand this month and I have to say that it was not worth the wait. There was absolutely nothing funny in this movie! There came a point in the movie that I realized that the quality of the jokes were never going to improve. It was simply a waste of time, except for the women mud wrestling scene.

Everybody Loves Raymond

Everybody Loves Raymond

I’ve never watched the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond and liked it all that much. Maybe it was due to my age and my inability to connect to the characters. I watched three episodes back to back today on TBS or some similar station and I was laughing at practically every joke. Maybe it was because I was eating Cherry ice cream… or maybe it was because I can now appreciate what old people see in that show. I guess that means that I am now old too. 🙁

Hey at least it beats Saved By the Bell! I can’t stand watching that show at 8am… even though I still do… I never really liked Saved By the Bell and now that I’m out of high school, I have even more reason to hate it. The stories aren’t at all based on real life events in high school. When did you ever steal your principle’s car? Each episode is so out of the ordinary and I find it hard to connect to these characters. Oh God please save me from Saved By the Bell College Years…

Saved By the Bell

Activision dropped the ball

Okay when it comes to games based on movies the consensus is generally that they suck. The rare exception is the Chronicles of Riddick and Spiderman 2 the game. Now Spiderman 3 has come out, and so did the game. It took the same brilliant swinging system from last Spiderman movie game, and put it on numerous platforms making the area you can swing around much larger. Well they screwed it up.

Spiderman 3 is a horrible excuse for a sequel. The camera controls suck, you can’t climb a wall without it going utterly bonkers giving you a headache. The graphics look like ASS, even on a 360. The combat is decent, but nothing to write home about. Sure, swinging is fun, but swinging around for hours on end gets quite tedious.

From what I’ve seen of the Wii version it’s the same deal. Poor controls, bad graphics, and an almost worthless experience. If you want a superhero Sandbox game pick up either Spiderman 2, Crackdown, or Hulk Ultimate Destruction, but avoid Spiderman 3 at all costs.

Spider-Man’s Box Office Smash

It really isn’t to anyone’s surprise that Spider-Man 3 did well at the box office, it’s the sheer amount that it totaled which is breath-taking! It’s three day total is at $148 million! Smashing the previous top box office three day holder Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest at $135.6 million. Factoring in the world-wide box office earnings, Spider-Man 3 made $375 million since Tuesday. The budget for Spider-Man 3 was $258 million.

Amazing!
