Need to pawn your donkeys for cash? Well, you probably won’t get very far trying to do so at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas where Rick, Corey, Chumlee, and Old Man work and pawn. But you might just be able to get a good deal out of Jimmie “Big Daddy” Deramus over in Louisiana who also happens to be the main dude on Cajun Pawn Stars.
Yep, Cajun Pawn Stars delivers an even wider range of odd, strange, and bizarre items that Jimmie’s friends, family, and regular customers feel are worth cash. And some of the items the customers bring in are pretty zany. One of the most frequent customers is a guy named Gator who always has something in hand that he feels is worth a fortune.
I really love Pawn Stars, but Cajun Pawn Stars grew on me. It’s folksy and quirky; a series with a down home feel and a unique sense of humor. It’s a show that would feel right at home among TV series like Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hee-Haw (ask your grandparents what these shows are, kids).
If you’re looking for a different take on the pawn shop series genre, I recommend Cajun Pawn Stars. It may not have a Chumlee, but it does have a Gator!
