Awesome is the best way to describe this animate movie from the folks over at Marvel. Fans of Iron Man, Hulk, or Marvel in general will definitely enjoy this teaming up of two of Marvel’s most popular Avengers. And while they don’t always see eye to eye, which makes it even more enjoyable to watch, these two superheroes ultimately come together to stop yet another threat that could mean the destruction of all humanity.
With superb animation and an excellent voice cast, Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United is a must-see for anyone looking for some superhero excitement. Along with the movie, Blu-ray viewers also get a few extras that are totally worth watching.
One of the reasons I love Marvel is that they don’t take themselves overly serious. They know how to have fun with their characters. Enter the hilarious Marvel Mash-Ups, which are part of the Marvel “Inter-Missions” on the Blu-ray edition and as a special feature.
If you pause the Blu-ray version of the film you will be taken to old-school animated versions of Iron Man’s and Hulk’s TV series. But here’s the catch: they’ve been re-dubbed with laugh-out-loud dialogue that had me laughing so hard I was literally crying! I wish there had been more of these offered, and I hope that future Marvel movies include these as an added bonus.
There’s also a selection in the Special Features that offers a few others that are equally as funny and worth watching. I must say that these Marvel Mash-Ups were an unexpected treat.
You also get an insightful look at the history of Marvel teaming up their characters in unexpected ways with Marvel Team-Up With Ryan Penagos And Joe Queseda. This featurette has the two men discussing their love of Marvel and their favorite team-ups over the years. It’s a pretty cool featurette that shows that when it comes to the comics anything and everything is a possibility.
I loved this latest Marvel outing and all the special features it included. I highly recommend Marvel’s Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United!
