It’s a sad time in Junctionville. Santa isn’t coming for Christmas. He’s returned all their letters to him unopened. Everyone is perplexed and mystified as to why this is happening. Both man and mouse alike are curious as to why Old Saint Nick has decided to give them the brush-off this year. It’s caused nothing but sadness and heartache throughout the town.
What’s this? Somebody has written a letter saying that Santa isn’t real and had it published in the Junctionville paper! Zounds! Could this be why Santa is snubbing the town and denying his presence to its citizens?
‘Twas the Night Before Christmas puts a twist on the classic Christmas-themed poem with plenty of songs and kid-friendly humor for the whole family to enjoy. It’s a tale about faith, hope, and coming together. It’s about righting wrongs and owing up to your mistakes. Deep themes for a Christmas cartoon, but expertly handled by the team of Rankin-Bass.
Will Junctionville be able to rectify their rift with Santa before it’s too late? Who’s responsible for the letter? And why is Santa so easily offended by one letter? All this and more will be revealed in ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas!
A neat special feature is Christmas: A Global Holiday that looks into the traditions held by cultures throughout the world and even gives insight into Santa’s many names in different countries. It’s narrated by Rob Paulsen, whom many know better as the voice of Yakko Warner on Animaniacs.
With narration by Joel Grey (Grey’s Anatomy, Phineas and Ferb), this timeless classic is sure to be a great addition to your holiday viewing list. Check out ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on DVD and Blu-ray today!
