Frosty’s Winter Wonderland: Deluxe Edition – DVD Review

Frosty the Snowman is back in the sequel that answers the musical question: can a snowman find true love? Frosty’s Winter Wonderland answers this question and dozens more as every child’s favorite snowman returns for more fun, more games, and more wintery good times.

But things are rough this time around for poor Frosty. He’s all alone and wants to find a mate. Since there are no snowpersons singles bars or online dating sites that cater to snowpeople, the children decide to make him a snowwife, or at least a snowgirlfriend so he’s not alone when they go home at night. Will Frosty find true love?

Causing more issues for poor Frosty is Jack Frost who is determined to get Frosty’s magic hat and become the new winter friend for the kids. Will he succeed in his dastardly plan?

Narrated by Andy Griffith (The Andy Griffith Show, Matlock), the special has a folksy feel to it that’s just as inviting as a roaring fire on a blustery winter’s night. There are several songs, sung by both Griffith and the rest of the cast. Listen for a new version of Frosty the Snowman throughout.

Also featuring the voices of Shelley Winters, Dennis Day, and Paul Frees, this is a classic tale for children of all ages and a great addition to any Christmas movie marathon. But be sure to watch the original first so you know how Frosty came to be.

A cool special feature on the DVD is about the History of Snowmen and the Birth of Frosty. Did you know that the first recorded drawing of a snowman appeared in a 13th century Bible? Neither did I!
