For the Caprica panel Syfy brought the executive producers of the show, Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. It was extremely interesting to hear them talk about Caprica and where the felt the show is heading. It seemed that no matter what they did, Caprica was going to be judged against the standards of Battlestar Galactica, even though it takes place before the rise of the Cylons. The first question that was asked of them was whether or not there would be more action and both Moore and Eick confirmed that there was going to be a lot more during the rest of the season.
Another of the major questions that was asked was whether or not there is going to be a second season. At the time, they were not able to answer although it has since been announced that there will not be a second season. Unfortunately, it seems that there was not as big of a following as they had hoped.
Lastly, one of the questions that I found to be fairly interesting was whether or not they had planned for the spinoff of Caprica or if it was more of an afterthought. Moore and Eick went on to talk about how they had always planned on going back in looking at the way the Cyclons were created and what led up to their creation. They mentioned that when Battlestar was coming to a close, they began planning for the Caprica series.
All in all, the executive producers seemed extremely energetic and happy about where the show was, even though it did not seem to live up to the expectations of the Battlestar fans.
