Yes, I’ll admit that I cried more than once during this movie. I’m not ashamed to say that I did, and if you have any sense of humanity inside of your soul you will cry at least once as well. Toy Story 3 is one of the best movies of 2010, one of my favorite animated movies, and probably one of the best part-threes ever made.
Everything you want in a film is here and played with such amazing dexterity and skill that you can’t help but become attached and connected to Buzz, Woody, and company. From it’s adrenaline-charged opening sequence to its final moments, Toy Story 3 is a movie that can be enjoyed and cherished by audiences of all ages for decades to come.
Each moment leaves you emotionally involved, captivated, and waiting for what will happen next. It truly is an excellent piece of filmmaking, and a testament to the skill and genius that Pixar brings to its films.
I first saw Toy Story 3 in IMAX 3D and it was an emotional and exciting experience. While it may not have the added dimension when watched on TV, it still manages to draw you into the world of these toys and really care about them. The first two movies were well done, but this entry in the series is fantastic.
Some critics have blasted the film for being a 103 minutes toy commercial since Barbie, Ken, and a host of other real toys are shown throughout. While there is some truth to this argument, I think that what is key here is the primary story, the emotional stakes, and the bonds between the characters. If a regular film can have product placement, why can’t a film about toys?
