Knight and Day – Movie Review

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz have a fun time in the action-romantic-comedy, Knight and Day. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this movie, but I really enjoyed the film overall. Despite its thin plot, the movie keeps moving forward with some great action sequences and stunts, and the chemistry and timing between the two leads is enjoyable to watch as well.

Cruise stars are Roy Miller, a FBI agent gone rogue after he acquires a top-secret device known as the Zephyr. Determined to keep it and its inventor (Paul Dano) safe, Miller will stop at nothing to keep the item out of enemy hands. Even it if means involving an unsuspecting woman, June Havens (Diaz) who just wants to get to her sister’s wedding.

It’s one crazy situation, mishap, and encounter after the next as Roy and June keep finding themselves involved in shoot-outs, car chases, explosions, and plenty of sexual tension. It’s definitely a fun popcorn flick that is enjoyable as a date movie or as a rapid-fire action-comedy. You make the call.

While the plot could have been more significant, the main attraction here is the give-and-take between the two leads. Their banter and timing together are what make the movie more than just a standard paint-by-numbers job. And it’s far more enjoyable and entertaining than Killers with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl.

Knight and Day is a definitely a fun summer flick. I think you’ll like it, too.
