After a long hiatus the retro space hero will re-appear on the big screen in glorious 3D.
Aside from getting to see Milla Jovovich naked every night, director Paul W.S. Anderson is best known for his video game-to-film adaptations such as Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat. He’s like Uwe Boll minus the German tax shelters and crippling failure.
Iron Man co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will pen the new film which joins a steadily increasing group of Hollywood productions based on the exploits of classic superheroes (The Green Hornet, Doc Savage, etc.). The Buck Rogers franchise was ubiquitous for much of the twentieth century, with the titular hero appearing in comic books, radio, movie serials, and two television shows. No plot details are forthcoming this new incarnation, although it will no doubt retain the two man ingredients of any retro science fiction flick: interstellar adventure and attractive women in tight spacesuits.
