A new Muppet movie on the horizon

Muppet
You might not remember the Muppets, they’re definitely not used as much today as they used to be. There hasn’t been much resurgence, but there has been some more interest in the Muppets, I’d say in large part to more adult uses of them.

During the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, an hilarious movie that Segel wrote and stared in, Segal’s character dreamed of making a Dracula musical with Muppets. Avenue Q, a Tony Award winning musical featuring Muppets-like puppets, made extensive uses of adult situations with things usually related to children, most famously the song The Internet is for Porn.

They’re not major changes, but more than there has been in the past 10 years. So Jim Henson studios is going to try their hands at another Muppet movie called The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made written by Jason Segel.

Segel’s Muppet movie follows the Muppets uniting to stop an oil tycoon from destroying the Muppet theater, which is sitting atop a large oil reserve. Jason Segel is a great writer, and I look forward to the movie being made, I just hope there aren’t a lot of There Will Be Blood references.
