Hardcore Wii games coming to the 360 and PS3?

The Wii isn’t one for hardcore games, yet developers insist on making them for the casual console. While these hardcore games, like No More Heroes , Muramasa and Madworld, have done well critically, they haven’t faired so well commercially.

With the economy fairing so poorly these days a critically successful game just doesn’t cut it anymore. Siliconera is reporting that because of this the publisher for Muramasa and No More Heroes in japan, Marvelous, is looking into having their hardcore titles bought over to the HD format on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

This comes just after No More Heroes director Suda 51 mentions his intentions for the future of the series on other platforms. Suda further explains “To expand NMH to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now.”

The hardcore games are one of the few reasons I own a Wii. They don’t follow the ill-responding and often boring movement exclusive controls that most Wii games have. They’re solid games that forgo the casual control model to make a much more entertaining game with simpler controls. It would be nice to see these great games with better graphics, but it wouldn’t have the same impact that they have on the Wii to me.
