Gotham City Impostors Open Beta Coming Soon
Have you ever wanted to get a gang of your friends all dressed up as The Joker and shoot Batman right in the face? Well now is your chance (sort of)! Developed by the team over at Monolith Productions (Condemned, F.E.A.R.), Gotham City Impostors is a multiplayer FPS that takes gangs of violent psychopaths dressed as The Batman against an equally deranged gathering of crazies who happened to be dressed up like the Joker and sets them loose onto the unsuspecting streets of Gotham City where they engage in war games.
Available exclusively as a download only title for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC, this highly anticipated game is set to arrive on January 10th, 2012 but there is an open beta that will be made available for those of us who cannot wait until then. As of right now there is no specific date other than “December” but you can easily sign up for the open beta by signing up here and hope that you are one of the chosen.
Having only seen a few of the options made available to us for customizing your character, I can already say that this release will be a game changer in what we might come to expect from developers to make our gaming experience truly unique to our personalities. A heavy range of body types, hair cuts, and various articles of clothing (or lack-thereof) means that it is very possible that no one out there will be quite like you. The game also features a range of challenges for both solo and multiplayer to help you level up and unlock more items, which is an expected staple in modern gaming.
I look forward to the beta and the actual release. I thought the concept was cool when I read a similar storyline in Batman: Confidential a few months ago, but now I wonder if that was sly marketing for the as-yet-to-be-announced game release. We can only wonder at this point. For detailed look at some amazing gameplay as well as a quick peek at the very in depth character customization please be sure to look at this video and stay tuned here for more information once the beta hits!
