Now Playing: Amorousness

Amorousness is without a doubt the most artistic film ever aired on StuffWeLike.com’s Original Shows. It’s actually the first film on StuffWeLike.com that I didn’t have any personal involvement. It’s also the first of several films in which we hope to create a bold and new direction with the ‘Original Shows’ (for you old SWL fans, Our Movies) on The Pipeline. We’ll reveal more information about these upcoming films as the productions on them begin. After you watch Amorousness, read the Director’s comments.

John-Erik Reese (Director): “This film is essentially a poem told with images. Much like an Ingmar Bergman or Jean-Luc Godard film, my short film takes a simple idea and a central theme as the necessary foundation, thus, making the two components revolve around the story completely.

My approach for the short was to make it ambiguous and anomalous for the motive that a simple thing (whatever it may be in life) is always much more intricate in its very own unique way. This short film is based on existential philosophy dealing with inner conflict, vanity, self-existence, and most prominently disconnected love.

I hope that everyone who views this may perhaps interpret the meaning his/her own way (as it was meant to be) and also may consider that images might perhaps appear as a meaning of its own (ex. Fire is seen in the beginning of the film as a symbol of love’s great fuel. Water, which is seen later, is a symbol for the love’s cooling or simply putting out the flames, which essential relates to the two figure characters).

Amorousness is, for all intents and purposes, filled with meaning and promising interpretation, the only aspect it requires is the initial thought.”

Leak of the Day 2: AO Manhunt 2 leaked onto BitTorrent sites

Manhunt 2 screenshot

Manhunt 2 became the next game after GTA: San Andreas to hit mainstream news because of its “Adult-Only” labeling and subsequent banning in several countries. Now, Rockstar has a reputation of such things, but it didn’t want any more. It immediately announced that Manhunt 2 will be revised and toned down to get a Mature rating.

But before Rockstar could say “Don’t ban us”, their Adult-Only version of Manhunt 2 hit the internets. Now all hell has broken loose on BitTorrent sites, as that’s where the (supposedly)secret AO version of Manhunt 2 is. Again, details on who made the leak and what Rockstar is going to do them, as well as whether they will use torture or just mutilation on them is unknown.

According to “Team Slonik”, who got the game onto the Internet, the game is a beta, and so you shouldn’t be complaining. But if you prefer a more complete (and cleaner) game of Manhunt 2, wait for the official release on October 31st, for the Wii, PS2 and PSP consoles.

Blizzard’s “really awesome” project is codenamed Hydra

Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga

We brought you news of Blizzard working on a secret, “really awesome” project some 2 months ago, but you’ve probably forgotten all about it. Here’s a bit of a refresher. The game is under development by a certain “team 3” comprised of 40 members. Nothing is known about the game other than Frank Pearce’s (Blizzard Sr. VP of Product Development) words: “really awesome”.

Now, the snoopy reporters at The Inquirer did some invisibility-cloak-enhanced spying on Blizzard employees and heard the following conversation:

Blizzard Employee 1: What are you working on?
Blizzard Employee 2: Starcraft II, and you?
Blizzard Employee 1: I am working on Hydra.

The codename “Hydra” has been confirmed, though it makes one wonder as to whether it will be the actual game’s name. Are we still staring at the game that will one day become the hugely-anticipated Diablo III? One can only be left in the shadows at this point.

Lego Star Wars is NOT the “Big Wii Lightsaber game”

Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga

There were rumours abound of a lightsaber game for the Wii a few months ago. Then again, I wonder if it were possible not to hear rumours of a Wii lightsaber game. Then there came a massive wave of fan disappointment when it was found that this mysterious Wii lightsaber game was Lego Star Wars – The Complete Saga. Lego Star Wars is a respectable line of video games, but us fans were hoping for some with, well, a little less plastic.

Well, it has just so happened that Mark Montuya, from LucasArts has leaked that Lego Star Wars’ Wii-induced lightsaber action is “just a taster” for a future release involving lightsabers. This sounds awesome! Can it be a Force Unleashed port or sequel? A Jedi Knight sequel? Whatever the case, Montuya’s words imply that such a game must be in planning stages, or heck, may have already entered production!

I can’t frikkin’ wait! But if you wish to play Lego Star Wars – The Complete Saga, you must. LSW – TCS gets released on November 7 for the Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and the PS3.
