High Quality YouTube Videos

I know that phrase is something that millions of people want. YouTube destroys video quality. It loads fast, but damn it looks nasty when compared to newer video sites.

The co-founder Steve Chen announced at NewTeeVee Live conference that YouTube is working on and will be rolling out higher quality videos very soon. The higher quality videos will be treated as an experiment, allowing the user to choose the higher or lower quality format. The higher the quality, the longer the load times. So it’s definitely a let down for some people.Thankfully YouTube will scan your internet speed before it even allows you to make the selection. So if you’ve got a slow connection, don’t even think about watching high quality videos.

Expect high quality videos on YouTube within 3 months.

Poltergeist remake has been confirmed, we repeat – CONFIRMED.

Almost exactly a year ago, the guys at Bloody Disgusting posted news about a possible Poltergeist remake, but nothing was official and so they just got a bit laughed at. But they were persistent and they continued to claim that the remake is for real, even after Spielberg denied it. This time, they seem to have confirmation that the 1982 horror classic is going to be resurrected. It’s going to be a post-strike movie, under production at MGM (which Bloody Disgusting reported amidst the rumours long ago).

BD doesn’t have any concrete proof, however, including no official announcement. They are “100% certain”, but I’d like to see some hard proof. Bloody Disgusting has informed us to wait for 2008 for more news. Yeah, I’ll just go drink coffee.

Dragonball Z Live Action Movie

Back in September we reported that a Dragonball Z film was in the works. Word has just spread that Justin Chatwin is set to play Goku! Hopefully you liked him in War of the Worlds because he is either going to break or make this movie.

James Marsters is going to play Piccolo and James Wong is set to direct this film.

I’m sure we’ll see some good action sequences, but will the story make the film worthwhile? Is this movie for the fans or for mainstream audiences? Will we see a lot of tall hair styles? These questions go unanswered for now…

Spock’s Back, but this time it’s PERSONAL!

Yes that’s right I’ve created a new word. It suits this new Star Trek film as it’s a prequel to the series. Keeping that in mind, the new/younger Spock looks pretty damn good.

Even with the Hollywood strike, production on the new Star Trek film goes on! JFX Online has got exclusive set pictures as well as the first images of Zarchary Quinto all dressed up as Spock.

This is only the beginning folks of tons of coverage of what will hopefully be a great film.

Lost Minisodes Are HERE

ABC has answered the call of LOST fans by giving them mini-episodes that can be found on ABC’s website! New episodes air every Monday. These 2-3 minute episodes are brand-new footage with the regular cast of Lost. They are NOT deleted scenes.

Hopefully watching these episodes will be worthwhile, but ultimately I can’t imagine that they will be. ABC doesn’t want to split up its fanbase by having some people know some new fact while other fans don’t because they didn’t watch the online episodes.

At the same time the episodes will hopefully feed the fire that Lost fans have for knowing what will happen next when the new season begins in 2008.

Michael Bay to leak false info on Transformers 2, is being an ass

As if Michael Bay bitching about not doing Transformers 2 wasn’t enough, he is now determined to wrestle innocent fanboys and movie news sites. Bay told Rotten Tomatoes that he has several fake scripts which he is going to leak “all over the place”. Since fans will never know that these are fake, they will be confused and Bay will be one happy boy. There is already one out, see if you can catch it.

I fail to see the genius in revealing that you’re releasing fakes if you ARE releasing fakes. Since people are going to know that the copy they hold is a fake, there isn’t going to be as much hype and viral marketing for the movie. If Bay is NOT leaking anything, but is lying in this article, then I label him a genius.

Bay goes on to boast about how he got the writer of The Ring to join the crew and how the story is going to be good, just like the first was. So, Transformers fans, here’s my advice to you: If you see a fantastic Transformers script, a brilliantly written, a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime script, you know it’s a Michael Bay-approved fake and doesn’t have a chance of being the actual movie.
