Co-host Patrick Norton has decided that episode #188 of DL TV will be his last (excluding future guest starring)! He’s left the popular video podcast as he has a daughter on the way, due in October, and he’s going to another gig. What that gig is, no one knows! It appears as though he’ll be taking some time off so we’ll report when he comes back to the net at a much later date.
It has been an exciting day in the podcast world where earlier today Morgan Webb started her own video podcast series and now Patrick is moving on with his life.
Currently this episode is not in The Pipeline so if you’d like to watch it head on over to their site at Dl.tv
[UPDATE]
Rumors are circulating that Patrick is heading over to Revision3.
Two EPIC games have been delayed: BlackSite: Area 51 and Grand Theft Auto IV. It makes me ill to my stomach to think that the industry had to delay such gems to make them better. What happened to outsourcing?!
Get some slave labor working on the game and we industrialized nations wouldn’t have to deal with such baloney. I mean seriously I don’t think I can wait till November 25, 2007 to play BlackSite: Area 51 or the second fiscal quarter of 2008 to play GTAIV! Gosh people, I don’t care about “setting a new standard for next-generation games!” I simply want to play these games. That’s all folks.
Is that so hard to ask?
Don’t even mention how Lair was delayed yesterday to September 4, 2007. Man the game industry is lazy.
[Update]
GamerTagRadio is reporting that Medal of Honor: Airbone is another game being added to the delayed list. It’ll be released on September 4, 2007. I knew a tester on this game and he said it was extremely bad. So I won’t bother making fun of MOH.
As I reported earlier, ReBoot is coming back with a vengeance – a trilogy of feature-length films! Zeros2Heroes has all 5 potential stories on their site waiting for users to review them and choose the best one. The highest rated story will go on to become the story to the films.
As a huge ReBoot fan I have to report back saying that they all suck. Many of them take what ReBoot was and shove it out the window, destroying what MainFrame beautifully created in the early 90’s. None of these stories understand what made ReBoot so much fun for its viewers. It was the comedy, the silliness of the characters and the whole story itself. The idea of the hardware and software of a computer being alive and what kind of world this would create, amazed both children and geeks alike!
A lot of these new stories are dark and have twisted the computer world called Mainframe. The two most popular stories ReBoot: Arrival and ReBoot: 2.0 roughly continue from where the TV show ended, which is nice for fans but why aim for only fans. If ReBoot is coming back let it shine and expand its small audience into something great gives the franchise a base to continue to create more products than these most likely straight to DVD movies.
You can voice your own opinion on these stories on Zeros2Heroes website or you can avoid this “contest” all together and voice your opinion by not participating in this sad excuse of a rebirth.
I attended Comic-Con last week and went to tons of conferences. One of the conferences that I attended was Smallville, the show about a teenage Superman that should have ended three seasons ago. Now the Comic-Con panel included the series executive producers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough as well as several of the series’ actors.
Back when Smallville was first created, there was a lot going for it. Overall the twist of watching Clark Kent being raised on a farm was a lot of fun, but as the series progressed it lost its train of thought. Beginning in season 4 and definitely in season 5 the plotline consisted of getting Clark with as many super-kyrptonite girls as possible – if you know what I mean.
Hey, WB/CW is just targeting its audience. It was during this time period that Smallville truly started to alter the Superman legacy. Even to date Clark still has yet to consciously fly, his father didn’t die before Clark graduated from high school, etc, etc, etc.
So with all these changes it has angered some Superman fans. Both Millar and Gough answered the fans issues with the series by simply stating that they see the Smallville series as a spin-off, nothing more than another comic book interpretation. That one statement made me feel much better about this show. It was like an epiphany, now I finally understood where these writers are coming from.
As viewers know, one of the best parts about Smallville is that it has been the place to see a good amount of other DC super heroes such as Aquaman and Green Arrow. For the longest time Bruce Wayne who’s alter-ego Batman was rumored to appear on the show. Millar and Gough said that they both wanted Bruce to appear, but due to the Batman franchise revamping with Batman Begins, Warner Bros. would not allow them to have any episodes featuring the Dark Knight after the movie was released. So ultimately Batman did not and will not ever appear on the show.
Now this is why I hate Warner Bros.: if Smallville is a spin-off of Superman and any DC super-hero can be pulled in and out of this show as need be – why the hell can’t Batman be shown?! If the reason is because the show and movie wouldn’t tie in properly, all that I have to say is WTF are Smallville and Superman Returns doing on the air together?! I thought Superman Returns was the jump-start to Superman franchise again!
Seriously Warner Bros. get your head out of your ass and wake up! Stop running around in circles pissing off your fans.
This is why I’m a Marvel fanboy. Cross-overs are a good thing, that will bring in larger audiences. Embrace them.
If using DC properties correctly was Warner Bros. only issue, I wouldn’t care, but when they can’t even get their oldest franchise Looney Tunes to amass to any success, I come to the conclusion that Warner Bros. is the devil.
Because you’re too lazy to get off the computer, why not order your groceries online? It’s the wave of the future ladies and gentlemen! or the past…
Honestly what is Amazon thinking? If services like this have failed in the past, what is Amazon doing so drastically different that it will make a profit? But it doesn’t matter if the service succeeds or not, let Amazon claim its jungle (cue monkey noises) and offer groceries at “competitive everyday prices!”
Amazon Fresh is currently offered only in Seattle, Washington and is invite only.
She celebrates her success with a contract to MySpaceTV. Yes what people are touting as the competitor of YouTube. What makes her new season debut on August 3rd so interesting is that there will be 1 new video clip added every hour for 12 hours straight! Beginning on Friday at 8am, add 12 hours to that and you’ll get the final hour of her debut. In total expect around an hours worth of footage, with each video clip being 1 to 4 minutes in length.
