Australia’s lack of an Adults-Only rating screws over yet another video game!
Syndicate, EA’s much-touted 2012 remake has been effectively banned in Australia after its classification board has refused to give it a rating. Note that Australia has no Adults Only rating to give, and so this game cannot be sold in Australia at all.
According to the report, the game was refused classification primarily for extreme violence. Apparently you can expect injuries spurting blood, flesh and bone getting exposed and post-mortem dismemberment.
EA is currently preparing a response to this, though it’s unlikely they will re-submit for classification. Sorry Australians, no Syndicate for you!
