First Starcraft 2, then Cataclysm, and now possibly Diablo 3. For having a long downtime between games these past few years Blizzard is making up for it by launching its signature titles with gusto.
Kotaku spoke with the developer at the AIAS Awards and when asked about Diablo 3 this year they had this to say,
“We really, really hope [it is out in 2011],” he said. “That’s our goal. Our goal is to get there. But you know, at the end of the day, we are going to get it right. That’s more important.
“We’re going to promise, we’re going to get it out there when it’s awesome. And, we’re crossing our fingers, maybe it will be this year.”
That’s a pretty ambitious goal as a number of popular titles are headed for the holidays, including Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, and Resistance 3. This year seems to be a series of “3’s” in the gaming industry. Another note worth knowing is that Blizzard has said Diablo 3 may even make its way to consoles if it can be done right. Stick with Stuff We Like to stay up to date.
