Spooky, creepy, freaky places are all over the world and this group of experts will do whatever it takes to uncover the reasons why certain places are haunted. Welcome to the world of Ghost Hunters International, the SyFy series that takes you to places filled with mystery and, sometimes, sheer terror.
A spin-off of the hit series, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International delves into the supernatural world with its team of specialists/skeptics exploring centuries old locales with dark, evil histories. Join, Robb, Barry, Andy, Donna, Brian, and Shannon as they traverse the globe tracking down some of the scariest haunted places on the planet. Demons, ghosts, spirits, and other apparitions are under their scrutinizing eye as the team works to investigate bizarre happenings in castles, town, mansions, and towns.
Where are Scooby, Shaggy, and the rest of the gang when you need them?
Through interviews with the locals and with those who work in and around the haunted sites, Robb and his team take these ghosts to task, doing what they can to communicate and at times eradicate the present evil or restless spirit. There are also interviews with the team on-site as they are experiencing the events firsthand. Using their hi-tech ghost hunting equipment, the team sets out to find visual, audio, temperature, energy, or other evidence of spiritual presences.
And be prepared for a lot of night vision camera work.
Some of the stuff they come across is just crazy scary! Disembodied whispers, temperature changes, spiritual touching, and mysterious shadows pop up all over the place, as these men and women work to solve these haunted mysteries. Is it real? Is it fake? Is it all in their heads? Is it all for the sake of entertainment? You be the judge.
Do ghosts from other countries understand and speak English? Something to think about.
And, hey, isn’t that Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, and Ford commercials narrating the opening sequences? Why, yes it is!
This exciting and chilling first season includes the following episodes: Chillingham Castle; Evil Unearthed; Whispers from Beyond; Haunted Village; Fortress of Fear; Headless Haunting; Frankenstein’s Castle; Larnach Castle; Devil Dogs; Castle of the Damned; and Shattered Spirit. Each disc also contains deleted scenes from select episodes.
While the show is great, I wasn’t a fan of the DVD packaging. It was clunky and badly designed. If you open the case you’ll notice that the three DVDs are stacked on top of each other. Be careful twisting off the cap holding down the DVDs, I turned it correctly and it snapped off. The DVDs are now free to go where they want, which can lead to scratched discs.
If you’re ready for a total freak out, I recommend Ghost Hunters International. There’s more than enough here to keep you up at night.
