Thankfully, we have enough distractions as it is.
When asked about Diablo III, Blizzard’s Rob Pardo has said that Diablo III will not be available in 2010. Yes, it’s going to take that long. To refresh your memory, let me remind you that the game was announced way back in 2008 and we’ve heard only little tidbits of info about it ever since.
Does this annoy you much? Pardo apologizes, in a way. “We always announce all of our games too early. We realize that and go, ‘You know what? Next time we’re not going to do that.’ And then we always fail at that.” He also mentions, however, that Blizzard would rather ship a complete, high-quality game than ship it early, a sentiment perfectly understandable in the gaming audience.
That doesn’t mean you won’t be hacking and slashing around, however. Torchlight has garnered fantastic reviews for its simplistic hack-and-slash action (its creators have worked on both Diablo games). Then there’s Borderlands, if you don’t mind a bit of post-apocalyptic shooting and co-op in your dungeon-clearing routine.
Another game to look out for would be Ron Gilbert’s DeathSpank, described as a cross between Monkey Island and Diablo. Should be enough to last till 2011, or whenever Diablo III releases, methinks.
well, usually when blizzard announces a game it usually takes another 4 years
