TRON came out before I was born, didn’t see it until a few years ago. I saw it, was really impressed by a movie that was released in the early 80s with such great visual effects. I heard they were making a TRON sequel, didn’t think it would actually make it off the ground, because these rumors come around.
A teaser came out for the movie at the 2008 Comic-Con. A sequel was no longer a glimmer, but actuality. Daft Punk was then signed onto score the movie, which was unbelievably awesome.
This year Disney starts Comic-Con off with releasing little viral advertisements for the movie. Tokens to an arcade, a website saying “Flynn lives”, and an arcade in San Diego. Of course, a year has passed since the last teaser, so they had to release more. They released a more significant teaser trailer to a crowd of excited Comic-Con patrons.
I heard it was awesome, I saw some pictures, I hated David. Then, on /Film, I see a teaser is out. I click it, thinking it’s some cryptic little 20 second video showing nothing. I now find myself almost at tears because of the trailer, and eagerly awaiting the release of this movie. See it for yourself, and weep.
Well now this was shown last year, but it was shown this year in 3D! It was awesome. Wasn’t entirely a teaser trailer as much so as test footage.
If the movie is less spectacular then that I will be tremendously disappointed.
