If you’re a Harry Potter fan, own all the novels, the movies, and play Quidditch (even if you are a Muggle) with friends on weekends, then this Biography Channel doc is for you!
As you can already guess from the title of the documentary, this is a biography about the three stars of the Harry Potter films: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).
We get a close look at the early lives of these three actors and move through how their lives changed due to the overwhelming success of the Harry Potter film franchise.
We also are given insights into the genesis of the Harry Potter novels, the phenomenal rise in their popularity both in Europe and the U.S., and the process involved in turning such a hugely successful book series into movies.
Since it is a Biography Channel production, the special is only 50 minutes long, which allows for a only a small amount of time spent on Emma Watson and Rupert Grint’s lives before and during the Potter series. The bulk of the documentary, as is expected, revolves around Radcliffe and his life before, during, and between Harry Potter films.
Those who are awaiting the next installment of the film franchise, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which will be released in the U.S. on July 19, 2009, will enjoy this trip down memory lane. Others who are new to the series will be interested due to the incredible journey these three actors have taken since these films made their debut.
A definite must-own/see for Harry Potter fans and a nice way to kick-off your Harry Potter marathon before the next film hits theatres!
