Be warned that if you buy the $170 game, you’re most likely going to have to return the guitar! Reports are flooding the internet saying the guitar’s are breaking left and right. I actually know someone with the game that has had this issue after only 3 hours of playing! This is a catastrophe, please send aid to StuffWeLike asap!
Very rarely will I give Sony or in general the Playstation brand props for doing anything right. I hate them. I acknowledge their importance to the gaming industry and what they have brought it, but for many reasons for which I will not get into I cannot stand anything Sony.
BUT I saw Sony’s new Playstation 3 commercial during The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode tonight and my jaw literally dropped. If reality was a cartoon, it would have hit the floor or if I was laying on the floor maybe in reality my jaw could have hit the floor…
Anyway, this video makes me want to own a PS3 for the hardcore games, amazing visuals, and basically the overall package that the Playstation 3 is offering. Not that I recommend buying a product based around a commercial. If I was a niave consumer then yes I would go out and buy one now.
Try not to fall into the trap after watching this commercial.
The dinosaur hunter is back in what hopefully is the game that restarts the series! If this already sounds familiar to you, it should be. The previous Turok game, Turok: Evolution, was meant to bring the series onto what was then the next-generation consoles (PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube). Well it failed miserably.
Disney now has the rights to the game so it will be interesting to see what the mouse house will be able to do with the game. Thankfully we won’t have to wait that long as the PC version of Turok will be released on February 5, 2008.
“First person shooters have a rich history on the Windows PC platform and are known for having enthusiastic, dedicated fans,” said Josh Holmes, vice president and general manager, Propaganda Games. “Turok will be an unforgettable experience ideal for the Windows PC platform when it becomes available in 2008.”
Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are also being worked on.
[Update]
We’ve been informed that there was a goof in the press release. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are coming 02/05/08. The PC version is being released later in Spring 08.
Although it started last Thursday, a Rock Band tour has begun and it is coming to cities all over the country. With this tour comes a huge stage, a chance to play about 7 of the songs from the game, and a chance to participate in the Rock Off Audition with the winners being able to participate in a Battle of the Bands live on MTV.
Defininitely go check this out as it is free and obviously awesome. Also, it’s coming to pretty much every region of the country in the next two months. You can find the dates and places here.

Years ago Tim Schafer, creator and writer of games such as Grim Fandango and Secrets of Monkey Island, created a game for the Xbox called Psychonauts, it was critically praised for it’s gameplay, level design, story, humor and just about everything else under the son. The game did not sell so well (as many aesthetically pleasing games do), but it became a cult classic. Despite the game’s poor sales Double Fine Studios and Tim Schafer signed a contract with Vivendi Universal to create another game for them. For many months it was unknown what this game would be called, or what it was about.
Double Fine eventually released the next game they were working on, but it wasn’t what most expected. It was a flash fighting game (which can be seen on their website), and it was rather funny, but it was no Psychonauts. Then Jack Black, the world famous comedic actor known for his role in School of Rock and in the band Tenacious D, was seen wearing a T-shirt. No big surprise there, but what was on it was a hint on what was to come from Double Fine.
