Windows Gets some Love from Apple

Apple announced today that Safari is now compatible with Windows! Of course why would Windows users want to use Safari on their system? I mean seriously it’s Safari aka crap. Well not anymore!

Apple claims Safari 3 is now the fastest browser running on Windows, based on the industry standard iBench tests, rendering web pages up to twice as fast as IE 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2!

If its got the same features as FF2 and it’s faster – I’m downloading this right away. You can check out the public beta at URL www.apple.com/safari

[Update]

I’ve tried it out and lets say that I’ll stick to FF2 for now. I didn’t notice any improvement in speed. When I clicked on my scroll wheel it wasn’t moving the page. Thankfully The Pipeline is 100% compatible. Other than that it just felt awkward running Safari on Windows…  😳

Bionic Woman TV show preview

We’ve got a preview for NBC’s upcoming Bionic Woman show. Airing this Fall, NBC is obviously trying to bank in on Heroes success and try their luck at another super human TV show. I’m liking it so far, but it seems like a high bugdet Smallville or Birds of Prey. With that in mind I don’t really know how long or how entertaining the series will be over the long run.

Judge for yourself by watching the preview in The Pipeline under TV Shows.

The Box Office Fun is Over for Now

I’m looking at this weekend’s box office reports and it’s almost sad to think that the big 3: Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, and Pirates 3 are slowly being shoved out of the theaters making room for the next big wave of movies. There’s something about this whole process that makes me sad. Maybe it’s that these box office movies signify the summer and with them leaving it’s almost as if summer is dieing with it as well. I need my box office movies! Don’t let summer die!

Here’s the chart for the weekend (if only I could make a percent of this return):

1. “Ocean’s Thirteen,” $37.1 million.

2. “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” $21.3 million.

3. “Knocked Up,” $20 million.

4. “Surf’s Up,” $18 million.

5. “Shrek the Third,” $15.75 million.

6. “Hostel: Part II,” $8.75 million.

7. “Mr. Brooks,” $5 million.

8. “Spider-Man 3,” $4.4 million.

9. “Waitress,” $1.65 million.

10. “Disturbia,” $550,000.

Speeding Wheelchair

Imagine that you’re in a wheelchair and somehow you get pushed by a semitruck going as fast as 50mph! Well imagine no more, it happened. Thankfully the guy in the wheelchair, Ben Carpenter, survived without any harm!

Ben Carpenter

No this wasn’t a jackass stunt. The poor guy wasn’t able to finish crossing the road before the light turned green. Viewers of the incident called 911 and said that the truck driver didn’t see Ben.

Ben’s a celebrity in my book!
