Well, it’s not exactly Borat but another of his creator Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego’s Bruno. The story goes that since Borat made so much money a while back Baron Cohen has been looking for a new big story to turn to a movie. He found it with his fashion character Bruno and he has now got into trouble. In character, he made his way onto a catwalk at a Milan fashion show without permission and got chased off the runway by security guards. Apparently he was handed over to police after the guards managed to catch him.
The footage may be seen in the upcoming movie depending on how the legal issues go. Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose Of Making Heterosexual Male is out next year. As for Borat 2 - That’s another story all together depending on which way the box office goes for Bruno and similar films.

Normally even if you don’t like the final version of a movie it’s the job of everyone involved to sugar coat the end result. Or at least that’s the Hollywood norm but in a rare stand against the studios Babylon’s French director has come out openly against Fox and their editing of his movie. A few choice quotes from director Mathieu Kassovitz included that the final cut is like “a bad episode of 24″. He has also commented about how Fox went and cut the movie’s production budget and removing 15 minutes of the film’s length consisting mostly of dialogue points.
The only other recent occurrence of a highly involved filmmaker going against their own work this year was Ed Norton. In that case he not only disagreed with studio execs over the final cut of the movie Hulk. In that case his wanting to make it more dialogue driven with not as much focus on action. He went as far as to refuse to partake in the promotional drive thus guaranteeing that there would be no sequel.

If you haven’t heard the news already it’s the next Harry Potter movie is to have it’s release delayed so instead of coming out at the end of this year it will be out in the summer of ‘09. While fans are screaming all over the net about the injustice there is another way to look at it on behalf of everyone else.
The world is nearing Potter fatigue and I think Warner Bros is starting to sense it. Before the fans start shouting that the movies are already a few years behind the book’s releases just a few key points to remember. There have been Harry Potter movies coming out for nearly a full decade with the big story a few years back about which would win the box-office wars between Potter and Lord of the Rings.
While Potter has kept on going, and going, Lord has been on hiatus for several years. Long enough for the dust to settle, plans for more movies come along and pre-production to begin. Since there has not been a pause in the endless Potter production line hype between each movie and books release maybe a delay would be a good thing for all concerned.

I really liked the first two Mummy movies, and still do to this day. So I went into The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor with high hopes. I’m sorry to say I was quite Continue Reading

With the events of San Diego Comic-Con fully upon us a few assets from upcoming movies and series premieres have started to appear online. For those of use who didn”t get to go to Comic-Con we can start appreciating all the highlights of the show bar the presentations. First to come to our attention is the poster above for Terminator Salvation (4).
It’s nice to see they are keeping to the old school way of making the terminator itself the prime focus of attention it would be nice to see a bit more about the film itself. The recently released teaser trailer was extremely light on useful footage, so it’s hard to make a judgement on the movie at this point. Unless there is more revealed with nighttime action sequences, as the future was shown in the first two movies then we might be stuck with Resident Evil 3 - The Terminator version. Nothing but sand and dust with occasional CGI action sequences.
Still, right now we have hope, and isn’t hope the whole point this early in the production process. We wish those working on the production the best of luck and hope McG provides a worthy addition to the franchise and a good film able to stand on it’s own.
