Warner Bros. is taking legal action against Bollywood. This time it isn’t just because they don’t like non-Hollywood movies but instead this time they do have a good reason. A new Bollywood movie is taking an extremely similar name to a giant cash cow of Warner’s. The movie “Hari Puttar - A Comedy of Terrors” is said by Warner Bros to be infringing on the Harry Potter copyright.
As you read this Warner Bros would have already presented their case to the Bombay High Court today. Considering just how long court cases take to process they must have had advanced warning about this months ago. The films story is said to be about a 10-year-old Indian boy who moves to the UK.
So not about a magical wizard boy then but the name is proving to be a serious concern. We will soon know if the makers will be forced to change the name as the movie is scheduled for a cinema release in some regions on September 12th.
