With the events of San Diego Comic-Con fully upon us a few assets from upcoming movies and series premieres have started to appear online. For those of use who didn”t get to go to Comic-Con we can start appreciating all the highlights of the show bar the presentations. First to come to our attention is the poster above for Terminator Salvation (4).

It’s nice to see they are keeping to the old school way of making the terminator itself the prime focus of attention it would be nice to see a bit more about the film itself. The recently released teaser trailer was extremely light on useful footage, so it’s hard to make a judgement on the movie at this point. Unless there is more revealed with nighttime action sequences, as the future was shown in the first two movies then we might be stuck with Resident Evil 3 - The Terminator version. Nothing but sand and dust with occasional CGI action sequences.

Still, right now we have hope, and isn’t hope the whole point this early in the production process. We wish those working on the production the best of luck and hope McG provides a worthy addition to the franchise and a good film able to stand on it’s own.

Cliffy B made some comments at the Gears of War movie panel at Comic-Con that might interest you. The man has put it in no uncertain terms that “I know people have ideas where they want to see some wrestler, some huge buff guy” we agree. But he added also instead of a wrestler “The thing we care most about is charisma, someone you’d want to watch for two hours.”

From our side we would love to see The Rock in the Gears movie. He could make anything work and thinking wrestlers don’t have charisma is a deadly idea, after all they all have work persona’s to work with and The Rock is a genuine action hero. As a fan of the Doom movie (yes, it’s true) I thought The Rock was the best thing in it and im a fan of almost all his movies. Steve Austin though I don’t think would fit.

If Cliffy is looking for plain actors to play the heroes in Gears who would you want? If it has to be a non-wrestler why not Thomas Jane or John Travolta?
