Babylon A.D. - Even the guy behind it hates it?

Normally even if you don’t like the final version of a movie it’s the job of everyone involved to sugar coat the end result. Or at least that’s the Hollywood norm but in a rare stand against the studios Babylon’s French director has come out openly against Fox and their editing of his movie. A few choice quotes from director Mathieu Kassovitz included that the final cut is like “a bad episode of 24″. He has also commented about how Fox went and cut the movie’s production budget and removing 15 minutes of the film’s length consisting mostly of dialogue points.

The only other recent occurrence of a highly involved filmmaker going against their own work this year was Ed Norton. In that case he not only disagreed with studio execs over the final cut of the movie Hulk. In that case his wanting to make it more dialogue driven with not as much focus on action. He went as far as to refuse to partake in the promotional drive thus guaranteeing that there would be no sequel.
