Super Smash Brawl has been officially moved to February 10th, 2008. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Personally, I believe this is a good thing because in my mind, if a game takes longer to come out but it actually needed that time to fix things, it is completely worth it. I don’t want a game to come out a few months earlier just because that’s when they said it would come out. I want the game to come out when the creators feel that it is ready.
Additionally, who can really say that there’s not enough games out right now, or coming out in the next couple of months as it is. I know I definitely don’t have enough money to spend on these games but if you do, you probably have better stuff to do than think about when Super Smash is coming out.
Also, February is generally a month in which a small number of games usually comes out. In addition to spacing out the times of these awesome games coming out, it is filling in the some of the gaps during a usually gameless month.

On October 28th the face-melting world will finally get its hands on the next iteration of the Guitar Hero franchise. And what is that you say? ANOTHER guitar playing game is coming out on November 23rd, and it has drums, the bass, as well as a microphone? Yes my axe-slinging friend, two games with guitars are coming out.
While the general gameplay and guitar seem to be fairly similar between Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero III, the guitar playing in Rock Band has some interesting new additions. One of these such addition is smaller frets at the bottom of the neck of the guitar that are used for solos. These notes can be pressed without stumming the guitar on solos and will be extremely helpful on harder note streaks.
Also, the creators of Rock Band have added a nob on the guitar that allows for the user to change what kinda of sounds come out of the guitar. With new additions like these, I can’t help but try to think why someone would rather get Guitar Hero III than Rock Band? While playing the guitar in the first two Guitar Hero games was absolutely amazing, it got to the point where it seemed like it needed something more, and another slew of songs just didn’t seem like it would do it for me this time.
Ever since I played the first Guitar Hero, I thought about how awesome it would be to play another instrument, especially the drums, and how cool it would be create an entire band with my friends. While the bundle for Rock Band is significantly more pricey than Guitar Hero III (about $80 more), it seems like it’s worth it for what you are getting. Also, from what I’ve seen of the confirmed song lists, it seems like Rock Band’s is more solid.
All in all, if I had to put my money on one of these games for the holiday season, it would most definitely be Rock Band. As a matter of fact, I just preordered it.
Remember that Dinosaur hunting game Turok? Well so do I! And remember all of those really bad sequels that came out after? Me, too! Do I want to remember those? Probably not. The fact of the matter is that there is going to be another Turok. But wait, there’s a catch. It looks like this one may not suck that much, or even suck at all. In the new OXM magazine there is an article about the new Turok and it actually seems to be looking pretty good. Some of the cool additions are being able to lure the dinosaurs to where enemies are and watch them devour the evil bad people and stealth kills which switch the camera to a 3rd person point of view so that you can watch the carnage. Let’s be real, who doesn’t want to watch themselves stab a velociraptor in the throat? Anyways, hopefully this game will bring back the franchise and encourage others to bring back franchises that died long ago.
After watching last night’s episode of South Park, I have decided that South Park is one of the best shows on TV. Whether you agree or disagree does not matter. Anyone who has been watching the show this season or even the past two for that matter should be able to tell you that the show is amazing. If anyone has watched was of the much earlier episodes and thought that the show was not good, I beg you to try watching an episode from this season. If for some reason you do not like it, you can sell me out right here. I dare you.
South Park has new episodes every Wednesday on Comedy Central at 10:00 and 12:00.
Does anyone else have the same love/hate relationship with the show Lost that I have? It seems that sometimes the show will be amazing, two weeks ago, and sometimes the show will suck, like last week. I love the show but it just seems that as it goes on it becomes more and more inconsistent as to when we will actually see an episode that adds to the story and is worth watching and when there will be an episode when nothing happens. I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.
And play the bass. And the drums. And oh yeah, you can sing now, too. By now, anyone who is anyone should have learned that the newest game from the Guitar Hero makers, Harmonix, is going to be Rock Band and will include playing the guitar, the bass, the drums, and singing. Sounds pretty awesome, right? Hopefully you won’t have to pay an arm and a leg for all of the peripherals but considering that these are the guys that brought us Guitar Hero, I think they will find a way.
Hey, Shiwan Khan here posting about everything from what TV shows you should watch, because I know all of the good ones, and which video games you should be playing. Oh yeah, I also know a lot about movies and music. Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that I will be posting on here from time to time and you will read what I write or I will send the henchman.
